NFL | Sammie Lee Hill suspended

Free-agent DT Sammie Lee Hill (Titans) was suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy, according to a source.

Footballguys View: This won’t help him latch on with another team. Hill hasn’t drawn any interest on the open market since the Seahawks visited with him back in March.

Cowboys | Mark Sanchez not trade target for Dallas

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez is not a trade option for the Dallas Cowboys if they have to accept his current contract. The Broncos have approached the Cowboys about a possible trade involving Sanchez.

Footballguys View: That’s not a surprise given Sanchez’s $4.5 million price tag. There’s $1 million guaranteed on the deal, and that’s enough to keep teams away. The Broncos could ask Sanchez to take a pay cut if they can’t get rid of him via trade and don’t want to cut him.

Chiefs | Knile Davis still on the block

Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is still available for trade. He had been shopped earlier this offseason.

Footballguys View: Davis was shopped around the draft and is obviously still with the Chiefs. With cuts happening around the league, we don’t see any team stepping up now to trade for Davis. He might be released if the Chiefs can’t find any suitors.

Packers | Jordy Nelson practices in full

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) fully participated in practice Monday, Aug. 29. Nelson said he does not expect to play in the final preseason game.

Footballguys View: We’re so glad to hear this. Nelson’s health is the key for the Packers passing game. If he’s his old self, the Packers should be able to light it up through the air. We like Nelson as a low-end WR1 in 2016, and Nelson’s currently coming off the board at WR11 (2.06) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Titans | Kendall Wright aggravates hamstring

Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright (hamstring) strained his hamstring again in practice Monday, Aug. 29. He will not play in the final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins Thursday, Sept. 1.

Footballguys View: More bad news for Wright here. He’s missed most of camp and the preseason due to hamstring problems, and now he’s down again. Fantasy owners shouldn’t worry because they weren’t adding him anyway. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe will be the two lead receivers on what should be a run-heavy offense.

Bears | Eddie Royal cleared

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (concussion) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 29, after he passed all of his concussion tests. Head coach John Fox said he is not sure if Royal will play in the final preseason game.

Footballguys View: We don’t think Royal should play in that game. He’s a seasoned pro who doesn’t need preseason reps in the fourth contest. Royal should be the team’s no.3 WR behind Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White. His fantasy value is limited by his role.
