Steelers | Antonio Brown signs revised deal

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown restructured his contract Wednesday, Aug. 31, which moved $4 million from 2017 to this season, according to a source. His base salary is now $10.25 million. The Steelers have promised to sign him to a true extension after this season.

Footballguys View: Finally! Brown was on the books for just $6.25 million this year — a horrible number for the best WR in the game today. The Steelers are still getting a bargain here as Brown’s price tag would be much higher if he was on the open market. He was a great find for this team late in the draft years ago, but his price doesn’t match his play. We should see Brown break the bank next year when that extension is done.

Lions | Eric Ebron 50-50 for opener

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (ankle) is 50-50 to play in Week 1, in the opinion of beat writer Dave Birkett.

Footballguys View: Even if Ebron plays, we’re not counting on him from a fantasy perspective. The Lions passing attack should be led by WRs Golden Tate and Marvin Jones. We think WR Anquan Boldin could have a larger role than a fully healthy Ebron. Look elsewhere for TE depth.

Seahawks | Jimmy Graham needs on-field reps

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) has looked good in pre-game drills, but he needs to get accustomed to on-field traffic, according to offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. ‘He looked great in that pregame,’ Bevell said. ‘He was catching the ball and he was really explosive as he was catching it. But that was on air. Now he’s out here with what is really the next part of the progression for him. We like what we’ve seen, but we obviously need to continue to bring that along.’
