New England Patriots LB Dont’a Hightower (knee) is making progress in his recovery from a knee injury but his status for Week 4 is uncertain at this point, according to a source. He has been participating in practice since last week.

New England Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett (thumb) was throwing passes during practice Wednesday, Sept. 28, and did not appear to be bothered by his thumb injury.

Footballguys View: With Jimmy Garoppolo banged up, Brissett could start again this week. The rookie ran a limited number of plays last week against the Texans, but he led the team to a big win. If he starts against the Bills, consider him a QB2 for fantasy purposes.

Footballguys View: Garoppolo is experiencing limited motion and soreness in his injured shoulder according to reports. At this time, we’d say it looks like rookie Jacoby Brissett is going to start on Sunday against the Bills.

Dallas Cowboys DE Charles Tapper (back) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) is out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Sept. 28, and head coach Jason Garrett said Bryant’s knee was still under evaluation.

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back) said he suffered no setbacks by playing in Week 3.
