New England Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo could be a possible trade target for the Houston Texans, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson.

Footballguys View: The Texans are obviously in the market for a quarterback with Brock Osweiler’s failings, but they are on the hook for 16 million guaranteed dollars to Osweiler this year. If they trade what would likely be a first-round pick for Garoppolo, they would have to tie up an inordinate amount of money if they sign Garoppolo to a long-term deal and keep Osweiler (which seems to be impossible to avoid). Alternatively, they could wait until 2018 to offer Garoppolo a deal, but if he plays well in 2017, the price will be much higher than Osweiler’s. It makes sense from a team need point of view, but the contract given to Osweiler hurts the possibility of it happening.

Cruz agreed to reduce his base salary from $7.9 million to $1.3 million for the 2016 season.

His time on our fantasy radar is probably over even though his return from a patellar tendon blowout was inspiring and surprising.
