Colts | Peyton Manning not GM candidate for Colts
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said former NFL QB Peyton Manning is not a candidate for the team’s general manager position.
Footballguys View: Irsay has reportedly been pursuing Manning for an executive role. At this time, Manning is happy spending time with his young kids but we could see him back in football soon.
Colts | Chuck Pagano to remain head coach
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano will return to the team for the 2017 season, according to owner Jim Irsay.
Footballguys View: Pagano is safe for now, but he’s most certainly on the hot seat in 2017. He’s gone 8-8 each of the last two years, so a playoff run would likely be the only thing that saves his job. The Colts have talent, and they play in the weakest division in football so that is not too tall an order.
Colts | Jimmy Raye to interview for Colts GM job
Indianapolis Colts vice president of football operations Jimmy Raye III will interview for the team’s general manager job, according to owner Jim Irsay.
Footballguys View: Raye has an impressive reputation around the league, so moving him up to general manager would make sense. He was a San Diego Chargers Scout (1996-99), Director of College Scouting (2000-07), and later their Director of Player Personnel (2008-12) before joining the Colts as their Vice President of Football Operations in 2013.
