Giants | Adrian Peterson keeping tabs on NYG

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson tweeted Wednesday, Feb. 15, that the New York Giants have been ‘making some interesting moves’ this offseason.

Footballguys View: The Giants would be insane to bring him on, though they are one of the teams Peterson wants to play for if cut loose by the Vikings. Given how bad he looked behind one poor offensive line in Minnesota, we’re not excited to see him behind another one in New York. They seem set on Paul Perkins as well, so unless Peterson wants to be the second back, he wouldn’t have much work at Metlife Stadium anyway.

Jets | Darrelle Revis facing charges

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis is facing pending charges of robbery, terroristic threats, conspiracy and aggravated assault as a result of his role in an altercation over the weekend, according to a police statement Thursday, Feb. 16.

Footballguys View: As if the Jets didn’t already have a huge impetus to cut him loose. All the facts aren’t in yet, of course, but with his contract plus the rapid decline in play this might just be one thing too many.

Rams | Jared Goff working with QB gurus

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff is working with quarterback gurus Tom House and Adam Dedeaux this offseason.

Footballguys View: Goff didn’t show a ton in his short time as a starting rookie, but with Jeff Fisher out, the Rams now have a chance to rebuild from the ground up without disrupting much of anything. We still feel he has some nice upside, but unless they can get him more potent weapons, his fantasy future looks dim.

Steelers | Ladarius Green yet to be cleared

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green is not currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol, but he’s yet to be cleared from a concussion that he sustained in the team’s Week 15 game opposite the Cincinnati Bengals.

Footballguys View: This is a pretty bad sign. Is this enough to keep him off the field long term? We’re tending to think so, given how teams have handled situations like this. Green showed flashes of production this season, but injuries once again derailed his efforts.

Steelers | Pitt will tag Le’Veon Bell if needed

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent RB Le’Veon Bell will hit the free-agent market March 9, and general manager Kevin Colbert said signing Bell and tagging Bell are both options. ‘The tag is always an option, and it’s something we’ll use if necessary,’ Colbert said. Colbert did add that even if Bell is tagged the Steelers still want to sign him to a long-term deal eventually.
