There’s just ‘some quibbling’ over guaranteed money, and once the two sides agree to terms, the Patriots will have the option of matching the offer or letting him go to New Orleans at the cost of the Saints’ first-round draft pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. They can also work out a trade, which would be contingent on Butler signing the contract New England tendered to him before free agency.
Jaguars | Calais Campbell to get more work at DE
Jacksonville Jaguars DL Calais Campbell said the team plans on using him more at defensive end next season. He added that this was ‘appealing’ to him when deciding which club he would sign with in free agency, and that when he’s gotten opportunities to play on the edge, he’s succeeded.
