Buccaneers | Doug Martin to be featured?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head Dirk Koetter said it is hard to feature two running backs in an offense, and offensive coordinator Todd Monken said he is looking forward to having RB Doug Martin back. ‘It will be great getting a guy like Doug back to where he was that will add to that explosion, because we just didn’t have that in the run game last year, with all the injuries,’ Monken said. ‘We had six different guys carry the ball last year.’

Footballguys View: Martin is suspended for the first three games of the 2017 season. The Bucs will use Jacquizz Rodgers and Charles Sims in a RBBC while he’s out. Martin is out of rehab and all signs point towards him focusing on football again. We’ll see if the Bucs do indeed feature him upon his return.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay willing to draft RB

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said the Buccaneers are not ‘desperate’ for a running back but are ‘always looking’ and willing to take advantage of a draft that is deep at the position.

Footballguys View: The RB class is pretty good this year. We’ll describe this as a ‘wide’ class instead of a ‘deep’ class. The reason? There are all sorts of options depending on the kind of back you need. The Bucs could use a backup feature back behind Doug Martin. Jacquizz Rodgers is more of a change-of-pace back, while Charles Sims is more of a receiving back.
