Panthers | Surgery goes well for Cam Newton

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (shoulder) underwent successful shoulder surgery on his partially torn rotator cuff Thursday, March 30.

Footballguys View: We are looking towards a rebound year for Newton, after a pretty big regression in 2016. The Panthers are trying to improve the offensive line, and will probably be adding more weapons for Newton in the draft. It all comes down to Newton himself though, and we’ll be watching his rehab very carefully.

Saints | Ted Ginn to be used in clear way

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. will be used in what head coach Sean Payton considers a ‘crystal clear’ vision of how he should be used. ‘I see him playing at flanker,’ Payton said. ‘I see him being a guy that can take the top off the coverage. I like what this guy does.’

Footballguys View: We don’t expect a ton from Ginn, even if he has improved over the last few years. There’s too much talent for him to see a lot of targets, and his role is likely to be limited even if it’s well defined.

Steelers | Martavis Bryant’s reinstatement imminent?

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant is expecting to hear back from the NFL soon in regards to his reinstatement from a year-long suspension for multiple violations of the league’s substance abuse policy. Per the Beaver County Times’ Chris Bradford, a league source told the paper on Wednesday, March 29, that Bryant’s reinstatement is “imminent.” According to Bryant’s agents, the receiver has added 25 pounds of muscle and is in ‘excellent condition’.
