Jets | Christian Hackenberg making progress

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg is making solid progress during offseason workouts, according to head coach Todd Bowles. ‘He’s getting a grasp of the offense and learning it. With 11 guys out there for the first time, there are going to be mistakes on both sides of the ball, but he’s coming along,’ Bowles said.

Footballguys View: There’s nowhere to go but up for Hackenberg. He was a second-round pick in 2016, but Hackenberg was so bad he couldn’t see the field as a rookie. Reports out of Jets camp indicate that Josh McCown is the best quarterback so far. No matter who wins the job, fantasy owners shouldn’t be looking to Jets QBs in any way, shape or form.

Lions | Theo Riddick working on sidelines

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) was running and working out on the sidelines during practice Wednesday, May 31, and had the ball in his left hand because his right hand is heavily wrapped.

Footballguys View: The Lions will not rush Riddick back as he’s a known commodity with a clear-cut role. Riddick will continue to be featured as the team’s pass-catching running back. Fantasy owners in PPR leagues should look at him as a RB3/flex option.

Lions | Kenny Golladay impressive at workouts

Detroit Lions WR Kenny Golladay has shown good hands and the ability to get open during offseason workouts, in the opinion of DetroitLions.com’s Tim Twentyman.

Footballguys View: At 6’4″ 218 pounds, Golladay is an impressive size/speed prospect to track in dynasty leagues. He can fly down the field and is known to make acrobatic catches near the sideline. Golladay can take the top off the defense or be a quality option in the red zone.

Browns | Myles Garrett to practice Thursday

Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (undisclosed) did not participate in organized team activities Wednesday, May 31, but will take part in practice Thursday, June 1, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

Footballguys View: The no1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft is expected to be a cornerstone player for the Browns defense. Jackson said Garrett’s current injury is not related to the ankle injury he had in 2016.
