Patriots | Malcolm Mitchell eased along during spring

New England Patriots WR Malcolm Mitchell was kept on the sideline throughout spring practices by design. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots are subscribing to a ‘less is more’ approach with the second-year wideout and doing what they can to help sustain him for the long haul given his extensive history with knee injuries.

Cowboys | Dallas continues endorsing Kellen Moore

Dallas Cowboys QB Kellen Moore’s understanding of the offense and ability to move the chains were on display at times during last week’s three-day minicamp, and his accuracy continues to be a strong point as well.

Footballguys View: Kellen Moore is the likely backup to Dak Prescott in 2017. He’s facing competition from guys like rookie Cooper Rush and recently added free agent Zac Dysert. Moore is likely the winner of the competition, but the Dallas offense would not be as exciting if he was forced into the lineup due to an injury to Prescott. We don’t see dynasty value in Moore, and there are several other backups we’d rather stash in that format.

Vikings | Kyle Rudolph improving as a blocker

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is doing a better job as a blocker, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Footballguys View: That’s going to help the offense, but you don’t get fantasy points for blocking. Rudolph should continue as a check down favorite of QB Sam Bradford, and that elevates his fantasy value. Last year, Rudolph was quietly the no3 tight end in fantasy football with a final stat line of 83 catches, 840 yards and seven touchdowns. Projecting him for 75 or more catches is reasonable, and that keeps his value in the TE1 range. You can get him at TE9 (8.09) in 12-team PPR leagues currently.
