Texans | D’Onta Foreman signs contract

Houston Texans third-round draft choice RB D’Onta Foreman signed his four-year contract Saturday, June 17. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys View: Foreman is a big back, measuring in at 6’0″ 233 pounds. He’s not as powerful as his size would indicate as Foreman has the athleticism to play more like a finesse runner. He’s competing with Alfred Blue for the backup role behind Lamar Miller in 2017.

Jaguars | Three Jags DBs uncertain for start of camp

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone would not say if he believes CB Aaron Colvin (undisclosed), FS Tashaun Gipson (undisclosed) and Barry Church (back) will be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys View: The Jaguars have a revamped secondary they’ll debut in 2017, but there are some injury concerns already. Not only are these three banged up, second-year star Jalen Ramsey (core) is currently recovering from surgery and his availability for the start of training camp is unknown.

Browns | Myles Garrett should be ready for camp

Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (foot) has been diagnosed with a left lateral foot sprain and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys View: That’s good news for the Browns. The 2017 no1 overall pick is in a walking boot and will obviously take it easy during the break. Expect the Browns to ease him into camp when he’s ready to participate.

Colts | Clayton Geathers likely to miss start of camp

Indianapolis Colts S Clayton Geathers (neck) likely will not be ready for the start of training camp because he is recovering from offseason neck surgery and may even miss the start of the regular season.

Footballguys View: Neck injuries are nothing nice, and they are tricky to come back from. Geathers was a playmaker for the Colts against the run last year, and his presence will be missed if he sits for a time during the regular season. T.J. Green and Malik Hooker might open the season as the Colts starting safeties.
