Giants | Thursday practice report for Giants

New York Giants LB Jonathan Casillas (ankle, wrist), RB Orleans Darkwa (back), C Brett Jones (hip), LB J.T. Thomas (groin) and DE Olivier Vernon (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 28. OT Bobby Hart (ankle) and LB B.J. Goodson (shin) were limited during practice, while CB Janoris Jenkins (ankle) fully participated in practice.

Giants | Shane Vereen does not practice

New York Giants RB Shane Vereen (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Footballguys View: Vereen really hasn’t done much in the backfield, but neither has anyone else. Orleans Darkwa looks like the leader of this rather uninspiring pack, and we wouldn’t look for anything more than RB4 numbers against Tampa Bay. This offensive line is that bad. So ultimately, Vereen isn’t missing much and neither is your lineup by not having access to him.

Bills | LeSean McCoy remains full go

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (wrist) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Footballguys View: McCoy is doing virtually nothing on the ground but he’s been fantastic as a receiver. Against a Falcons team which has been so-so against the run, he has a chance to be good in both areas, but we’re still a bit cautious and consider him a very good RB2 with the ceiling for more.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin expected to play

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is expected to play in Week 4 as long as he does not suffer a setback, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

Footballguys View: This is a good matchup, but the injury Benjamin is dealing with plus Cam Newton’s issues are holding Benjamin back and keep us a little cool on him. Even if he plays, how much will he play and how many hits can that knee take? We like him as a WR4, though if he practices fully by Saturday we might raise his status a little.
