Eagles | LeGarrette Blount likely to stay

Even with the acquisition of RB Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles are not likely to move RB LeGarrette Blount at the trade deadline.

Footballguys View: We can’t see teams lined up around the block for Blount. He’ll stay, but the addition of Jay Ajayi will certainly take away a ton of work from the veteran back. We should see as much Ajayi as possible going forward with Blount getting some part time work.

Patriots | Malcolm Butler may be dealt

The New England Patriots may deal CB Malcolm Butler before the trade deadline at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Footballguys View: There were talks a week ago about the Patriots perhaps extending Butler. Now that QB Jimmy Garoppolo has been dealt to the 49ers, there’s a chance the Patriots could place the franchise tag on Butler for 2018 if they don’t trade him and can’t work out an extension.

Broncos | Denver QB change unclear

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler would be the replacement for QB Trevor Siemian, according to sources for NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported QB Paxton Lynch likely would be the starter, if the team made a move. Rapoport points out that Lynch has three practices in the new offense.

Footballguys View: Lynch had the whole offseason, most all of training camp and three games in the preseason in this new offense. He was a first-round pick in 2016 and the team needs to evaluate whether or not he’s cut out to be the quarterback of the future.

Chiefs | Kareem Hunt’s record streak ends on MNF

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt was held to a season-low 68 yards from scrimmage in the team’s Week 8 victory Monday, Oct. 30, versus the Denver Broncos. He had 46 rushing yards on 22 carries to go with three receptions for 22 yards. It was the first time Hunt did not record 100 total yards after hitting that plateau in an NFL-record seven straight games to begin his career.
