San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury on a hard hit in the first half of the Week 17 game against the Los Angeles. He was carted off and gave a thumbs up to the crowd before departing.
Footballguys View: Goodwin lost a shot at a 1000 yard season but scored in a year that proved he was an NFL starter quality wide receiver. His fantasy future is bright with the quarterback and offensive coaches he has in place around him.
Los Angeles Rams WR Mike Thomas (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in Week 17 and is considered questionable to return.
San Francisco 49ers DT DeForest Buckner (chest) suffered a chest injury in Week 17 and is considered questionable to return.
Kansas City Chiefs WR De’Anthony Thomas (leg) suffered a right leg injury in Week 17 and will not return to the game.
Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins completed 20-of-37 pass attempts for 158 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in the Week 17 game against the New York Giants. RB Kapri Bibbs led the team with 47 rushing yards on 12 attempts, while Cousins had a 12-yard touchdown run on his only rush. RB Samaje Perine ran twice for just three yards. Bibbs also led the team in receiving with 53 yards on a game-high eight catches, and WR Josh Doctson finished with four grabs and 37 yards. WR Jamison Crowder posted three catches for 25 yards, and WR Ryan Grant ended up with two catches with 23 yards. TE Vernon Davis rounded things out with two snares for 20 yards.
Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson will return to the team next season, according to owner Jimmy Haslam. Haslam said he told general manager John Dorsey that Jackson will be the head coach in 2018.
New York Giants QB Eli Manning completed just 10-of-28 pass attempts for 132 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins. RB Orleans Darkwa rolled up a career-high 154 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while RB Wayne Gallman added 89 yards on 15 receptions. TE Rhett Ellison posted five grabs for 63 yards, while WR Hunter Sharp stepped in with three catches, 29 yards and a touchdown to lead the wide receivers. WR Travis Rudolph also had 29 yards on his lone reception.
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Landry Jones completed 23-of-27 passes for 239 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns with QB Ben Roethlisberger resting. RB Stevan Ridley carried 17 times for 80 yards and a score with RB Le’Veon Bell sitting out, while WR Darrius Heyward-Bey scored on a 29-yard rush. WR JuJu Smith-Schuster shined with nine grabs, 143 yards and a score, and WR Martavis Bryant was good for six catches and 65 yards.
Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith has announced that he is taking an extended leave of absence in order to take care of his wife who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer completed 16-of-30 passes for 314 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he rushed six times for a team-high 61 yards. RB Isaiah Crowell finished up with 15 carries and just 21 yards. RB Duke Johnson ran six times for 20 yards and a touchdown, while adding six receptions for 75 yards. WR Josh Gordon was good for four receptions and 115 yards on seven targets, while WR Rashard Higgins shook free for two scores, finishing with three grabs and 68 yards. TE David Njoku ended his season with two grabs and 38 yards, while WR Corey Coleman managed just one grab for 18 yards.
