Redskins | Orlando Franklin signs futures deal

The Washington Redskins signed OG Orlando Franklin to a Reserve/Future deal Friday, Jan. 19. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys View: A second-round pick of the Broncos in 2011, Franklin was on three different teams during the 2017 calendar year (Chargers, Saints, Washington). He’s a big-bodied run-blocker who is trying to get his career back on track.

Jets | Robby Anderson arrested

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson was arrested in Florida Friday, Jan. 19, and is facing nine charges including reckless driving, eluding police, resisting arrest and harm to a public servant or family member.

Footballguys View: The police report states that Anderson was speeding, clocked at 105 mph in a 45 mph zone. He eluded police but eventually pulled over. In the back of the police car, Anderson allegedly threatened the arresting officer’s family. This isn’t the first time Anderson has had a run in with the law, as last year he was arrested at a music festival where he was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing justice.

Jaguars | Championship injury report for Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars FS Tashaun Gipson (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 19, and is listed as questionable for the AFC Championship game. SS Barry Church (shoulder), RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) and DT Malik Jackson (ankle) were limited during practice but are not on the injury report. QB Blake Bortles (wrist), OG Patrick Omameh (illness) and LB Paul Posluszny (abdomen) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Jaguars | Blake Bortles not on injury report

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (wrist) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 19, and is not on the injury report for the AFC Championship game.

Footballguys View: Bortles is trending the right way with this injury and with his play on the field. He rushed for more yards than he passed for in the Wild Card Round against the Bills, but in the Divisional Round against the Steelers Bortles had 214 yards passing, one touchdown with zero turnovers and zero sacks taken. He’ll need top play an efficient game against the Patriots in order to advance to the Super Bowl.

Jaguars | Leonard Fournette on track to play

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) were limited during practice Friday, Jan. 19, and is not on the injury report for the AFC Championship game.

Footballguys View: Fournette is the centerpiece of the Jaguars offense, and he’ll need a big day for the team to advance to the Super Bowl. The Patriots will do whatever they can to take Fournette away from the Jaguars offense and dare QB Blake Bortles to beat them.
