Saints | Coby Fleener a cut candidate
New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener is set to count $8 million against the cap with a $6.3 million salary in 2018, making it highly unlikely he will stay with the team unless he agrees to a pay cut on the five-year, $36 million contract he signed in 2016. The Saints choose to release him, they would still be charged $4.8 million in dead money.
Buccaneers | Doug Martin ‘wasn’t ever the same’ in 2017
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin failed to rush for even 500 yards for the fourth time in five years. General manager Jason Licht attributed Martin’s most recent disappointing season to his season-opening suspension and the idea he wasn’t able to reach the form he showed in the preseason after returning from his three-game absence.

Browns | Ben McAdoo interviewing for Browns OC
Former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo is interviewing with the Cleveland Browns Tuesday, Jan. 16, for their offensive coordinator position.
Footballguys View: Mike Mularkey, former Titans head coach, is also in the mix for this job. McAdoo is not an inspiring hire after his offenses with the Giants were massive disappointments…especially with the talent therein. The Browns don’t have anywhere near that level of talent on offense, giving McAdoo (or whoever takes that job) less to work with.
Cardinals | Mike Munchak to interview with Cards
Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak is expected to interview for the Arizona Cardinals’ head coaching position, according to sources.
Footballguys View: Munchak gets a second interview with the Cardinals showing how serious they are about hiring him. He had three seasons as the head coach of the Titans, going 22-26 during those seasons. We’ll see if the Cardinals seal the deal with Munchak or give others a longer look too.
Chiefs | Jay Valai hired by KC

NCAA | Bryce Love staying for senior year
Stanford RB Bryce Love, a Heisman Trophy runner-up, will return for his senior season in 2018. His 8.1 yards per rush last season was the best in FBS history.
Steelers | Le’Veon Bell wants to remain in Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell said he ‘of course’ would want to remain in Pittsburgh next season and that he would ‘never want to leave this city,’ but ‘circumstances and things like that’ would be the reason if he doesn’t continue his tenure with the Steelers in 2018.
Patriots | Tom Brady cements another playoff record
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady’s three-touchdown performance in the team’s Divisional Round victory Saturday, Jan. 13, against the Tennessee Titans was his 10th such performance in the postseason, breaking a tie with retired QB Joe Montana for most career playoff games with three or more passing touchdowns.
