NFL | Saquon Barkley weighs in at NFL Scouting Combine
Penn State RB Saquon Barkley measured 6-foot, 233 pounds Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.
Footballguys View: Barkley is the best back in this draft and could easily be a featured back in the pros as he’s a strong runner and sure receiver out of the backfield. He’s drawn comparisons to Ezekiel Elliott, and we think there’s plenty of David Johnson to his game. Barkley could be the no1 overall pick, and he’s going top-5 at worst in the 2018 NFL draft.
Steelers | Pittsburgh GM says Martavis Bryant staying
Updating an ongoing story, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant is not the subject of trade plans, according to Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert. He added teams have called about Bryant, but Colbert said Wednesday, Feb. 28, the wide receiver is not on the trading market.
Footballguys View: Reports surfaced last week about the Steelers fielding phone calls about Bryant. They are not actively shopping him, but it would be wise to listen to offers. Saying that Bryant is not going anywhere could just end up driving his price up…if in fact the team would feel comfortable trading him away. With JuJu Smith-Schuster looking like a star, Bryant is somewhat expendable for the Steelers.
