Redskins | Sony Michel visits
Georgia RB Sony Michel had a pre-draft visit with the Washington Redskins Wednesday, April 18.
Footballguys View: Michel reminds some in the scouting community of LeSean McCoy. He’s an electric runner who can finish runs with toughness even though Michel is not your traditional banger between the tackles. Michel is an early second-round pick who could end up going in day one as teams look for this year’s Alvin Kamara.
Eagles | Carson Wentz plans to play in opener
Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) said he does not have a definite timetable for his return but does intend to play Week 1.
Footballguys View: That’s the plan and Wentz seems to be ahead of schedule in his recovery. So long as there are no setbacks, we should see Wentz under center for the Eagles in Week 1. It’s too far away to feel real comfortable, so we’ll continue to monitor him closely and put a pin in this article/mindset until the season gets closer.
Cowboys | Kyle Lauletta works out for DAL
Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta recently participated in a private workout with the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.
Footballguys View: Lauletta is an interesting developmental prospect and could be a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft. It’s interesting to note the Cowboys as having interest in him as they’ve got Dak Prescott as their starter. We’ll see if they try and find a backup with starter’s upside (like Lauletta) in the draft.
