Buccaneers | Jameis Winston bracing for suspension

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is expecting a suspension by the NFL for an incident with an Uber driver in 2016, according to ESPN Radio 97.9 in Tallahassee’s Jeff Cameron. Cameron’s sources told him that the maximum is likely three games, but the most likely event is that he’s suspended one game. Winston was accused of groping a female Uber driver in Scottsdale, Ariz., and the suspension would stem from his failure to report the incident to the league. The personal conduct policy states players are ‘to promptly report any matter that comes to their attention (through victim or witness reports, law enforcement, or media reports) that may constitute a violation of this policy.’ It’s unknown if Winston would appeal.

Seahawks | Earl Thomas extension unlikely

Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas seems unlikely to receive a contract extension from the club, in the opinion of beat writer Brady Henderson. The Seahawks brass has previously extended many core players, but general manager John Schneider used the distinction that many of those extensions a year ahead of free agency were with players on rookie deal. Thomas is not.
