Free-agent RB Terrance West (Ravens) is signing an undisclosed deal with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, June 13, according to a source.

Footballguys View: West finally finds a home as he wasn’t getting a ton of interest on the open market. A few teams (Eagles, Colts, Jaguars) brought him in to work out, but West gets a chance with the Saints now. The team is looking for veteran depth at the position behind Alvin Kamara…especially with Mark Ingram suspended the first four games of the regular season. West will compete with guys like Jonathan Williams to establish a pecking order at backup running back.

Baltimore Ravens CB Jimmy Smith (Achilles’) participated in the second day of minicamp Wednesday, June 13. Smith’s return to practice could mean he’ll be ready in time for training camp in late July.

San Francisco 49ers LB Fred Warner signed his four-year rookie deal Wednesday, June 13. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson (hamstring) is at risk of missing the final roster if he can’t get back on the field, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (toe) has not been allowed to participate in minicamp because of a sore toe. He wanted to practice Wednesday, June 13, but head coach Vance Joseph did not permit him to do so. Thomas will not practice Thursday, June 14, either.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) has been limited this offseason by what he referred to as a frustrating injury. He has not participated in team drills during organized team activities or minicamp, but he does expect to be ready when training camp begins.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold will be the starting quarterback by Week 1 if he is able to handle everything the Jets are throwing at him, according to offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates. Head coach Todd Bowles has already said Darnold is an outstanding learner. Darnold said he’s focused on learning as much as he can in a relatively short amount of time.

Indianapolis Colts LB Anthony Walker Jr. (undisclosed) was carted off the practice field Wednesday, June 13, with an undisclosed injury.
