Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians was acquired along with a 2019 seventh-round pick from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a 2019 sixth round pick Tuesday, Jan. 8. The league initially told the Buccaneers no compensation was needed to hire Arians, but the Cardinals argued they still held Arians’ contract rights following his retirement after the 2017 season.

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians, whose rights were technically still held by the team after his retirement last season, was traded along with a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a 2019 sixth-round pick Tuesday, Jan. 8.
