Lions | Matthew Stafford would ‘love’ to stay put

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford admitted he would ‘love’ to remain with the only team he’s ever played for. ‘I think there’s something special about a guy getting a chance to play his entire career in one place,’ Stafford said. ‘Not many guys get to do that these days. I would love to be one of those guys.’ It remains to be seen, however, if the Lions feel the same way.

Seahawks | K.J. Wright will have no limitations

Seattle Seahawks LB K.J. Wright (knee) is fully back without limitations and will be able to play every snap if needed in the team’s Wild Card playoff game Saturday, Jan. 5, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Wright played 47 of 66 snaps in the regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals.

Footballguys View: Wright is part of a dynamic duo at linebacker with Bobby Wagner but they have only played together in five games this year. The Cowboys linebackers have been special this year, but when healthy Seattle’s duo is among the best in the league.

Colts | Indy makes change to practice squad

Free-agent CB Jalen Collins was signed to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad Thursday, Jan. 3. The team also released LB Anthony Winbush from their practice squad.

Footballguys View: Collins was a 2015 second round pick of the Falcons, but had multiple suspensions for substance abuse and performance-enhancing drug policy violations before they released him. He was reinstated during this season and briefly was on the active roster last week.

Cowboys | Thursday’s Dallas practice report

Dallas Cowboys DL David Irving (ankle) and OG Xavier Su’a-Filo (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 3. S Darian Thompson (groin) and WR Tavon Austin (groin) were limited, while DE Tyrone Crawford (neck), OG Zack Martin (knee), OT Tyron Smith (neck) and LB Sean Lee (hamstring) practiced in full. Irving has already been ruled out for the club’s Wild Card playoff game on Saturday, Jan. 5, while Su’a-Filo has been tabbed doubtful and Austin and Thompson are being considered questionable.

Footballguys View: Austin made an appearance in Week 17 and could add some speed to the Cowboys offense. Irving’s presence in the middle of the line has been almost non-existent this year, with only two games played.
