Jets | Chris Herndon generating excitement

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon looked ‘really good’ during organized team activities this week and ‘can be a huge red-zone weapon for Darnold and new coach Adam Gase,’ according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. Gase called Herndon a ‘unicorn type player’ in March and seems excited about what he can do with him inside his offense, per Costello.

Footballguys View: Herndon has some upside and we saw him earn the trust of QB Sam Darnold a year ago. He’s facing a suspension from the league after pleading to DWI back in January. Herndon finished as the No. 15 fantasy tight end in 2018 and has a current ADP of TE20 (14.04). We like what everyone is saying about him this offseason but need to see how many games he’s suspended for.

Colts | Jack Doyle could be cleared soon

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle (kidney, hip) is running and has introduced position-specific movements – such as cutting – into his rehab.

Footballguys View: It will be good to get Doyle back out there. Even with Eric Ebron as the Colts top tight end, Doyle is a valuable asset to the team…but his fantasy stock is much lower than it once was. General manager Chris Ballard recently indicated Doyle might be cleared to practice by mid-June and should be ready for training camp.

Browns | Odell Beckham missing a lot

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. is missing ‘a lot’ while absent from organized team activities, according to head coach Freddie Kitchens.

Footballguys View: Beckham has attended only one of the nine OTAs for the Browns this offseason. When the work becomes mandatory, Beckham will be in the building. With Jarvis Landry out with an undisclosed (but reportedly minor) injury, QB Baker Mayfield has been throwing to backup-caliber receivers every day in camp. Mandatory minicamp for the Browns is June 4-6 and we expect Beckham will be in attendance.
