49ers | 3-headed RB monster in San Fran?

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida said Wednesday, May 15, the team could feature a three-man running back rotation also involving Jerick McKinnon and Tevin Coleman. ‘They’ve talked to us about it,’ Breida said. ‘They’ve said, ‘Hey, we’re going to use all you guys.’ All three of us are going to be used a lot. I don’t want to give away any secrets, but we’re all going to be used in the offense.’ It’s still too early/unclear how snaps will be divided.

Footballguys View: This would be a problem for Fantasy GMs trying to manage a weekly starting lineup. We’ll get a better feel about this clear RBBC in training camp and the preseason. At this time, the earliest drafted 49ers running back is Tevin Coleman at RB30 (6.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Broncos | Drew Lock praises Joe Flacco

Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock says fellow QB Joe Flacco has been a positive influence this offseason. ‘He’s taught me a lot so far,’ Lock said. ‘He’s dealing with trying to win football games, and I’m dealing with trying to learn. We’re in the same quarterback room. He’s been great to me.’

Footballguys View: Flacco said earlier this week that it was not his job to mentor Lock and that has created a lot of buzz on sports talk shows. It’s not a big deal, as Flacco is known as a great teammate — it just means that Lock has a responsibility (as well as the Broncos coaching staff) to get ready for the pros. Lock is not a threat to Flacco in 2019 and won’t see the field as a rookie unless Flacco is banged up.

Seahawks | D.K. Metcalf could start as rookie

Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf was impressive during the team’s rookie minicamp, according to the Washington Post’s John Clayton, who said it was the best showing seen at a Seattle rookie camp since QB Russell Wilson back in 2012. Clayton added that Metcalf did so well that the team could start him on the outside and slide WR Tyler Lockett into the slot.
