Seahawks | Cody Barton signs contract

Seattle Seahawks third-round draft choice LB Cody Barton signed a four-year contract with the Seahawks Friday, June 7. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys View: Barton could be the replacement for Bobby Wagner if Wagner is not signed to a new contract next year. He and Ben Burr-Kirven were drafted this year to provide depth now and maybe start in the future.

Bears | Chicago unlikely to pursue Matt Bryant

Free-agent PK Matt Bryant (Falcons) likely will not be an option for the Chicago Bears since he has not handled kickoff duties since 2008 and has not kicked for a cold-weather outdoor team since 2003, in the opinion of The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs.

Footballguys View: The Bears should wait until final cuts and add one of the kickers that loses a kicker battle, but performs well this summer. Bryant is proven, but it sounds like he would be a bad fit on the Bears.

Bears | David Montgomery may have decent role

Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery should have the chance to earn a solid role in the offense during his rookie season, in the opinion of The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs.

Footballguys View: Montgomery will be part of a three-man committee at running back. If he can decisively outplay Tarik Cohen or Mike Davis, he might earn a larger role, but for now his ADP might be a little aggressive, assuming the Bears stick with this plan all year.

Rams | Darrell Henderson inks rookie deal

Los Angeles Rams third-round RB Darrell Henderson (Memphis) signed his four-year rookie contract Friday, June 7. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Footballguys View: Henderson is one of the hottest names in fantasy right now and for good reason. There is nothing positive around Todd Gurley’s knee and Henderson should get a large opportunity with Gurley’s workload cut back this year. He could turn a lot of the big runs CJ Anderson had last year down the stretch into touchdowns and be an instant hit even with a fully functional Gurley.

Redskins | Donald Parham lands in Washington

Free-agent TE Donald Parham signed an undisclosed contract with the Washington Redskins on Friday, June 7. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Footballguys View: Parham is a tall, athletic pass-catching tight end who could land on the practice squad. The clock is ticking on Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis’s viability, and Jeremy Sprinkle might be more blocker than receiver.
