Eagles | Jordan Howard hogging first-team reps

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard is ‘dominating carries with the first-team offense’ so far in training camp, according to 94WIP’s Eliot Shorr-Parks.

Footballguys View: Howard should be the most valuable Eagles back in the early season, but he might not get enough work to be consistently relevant unless he is a frequent goal line option – which he could be. The team is likely to bring rookie Miles Sanders along slowly, with maybe 8-10 touches a game to start the season.

Ravens | Joe Callahan expected to join Baltimore

Free-agent QB Joe Callahan (Buccaneers) is expected to sign with the Baltimore Ravens, pending a physical, according to a source.

Footballguys View: Callahan has bounced around the league but failed to stick on a roster for long. He doesn’t offer the mobility of injured backup Robert Griffin III or Josh Johnson, who the team attempted to sign before settling on Callahan.

Chiefs | Keith Reaser may have torn tendon

Kansas City Chiefs CB Keith Reaser (ankle) is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles tendon Monday, July 29, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Footballguys View: Reaser was an AAF refugee, but slated to be as high as the team’s fourth corner. This only increases the chances that the secondary will be a weakness this year even though he was merely depth. The Chiefs didn’t have any to spare to begin with.
