Jets | Chris Herndon handed four-game ban

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon received a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy as a result of pleading guilty to DUI in June of 2018, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys View: We knew that Herndon was set to be suspended for his 2018 DUI arrest, but most felt it would be a two-game ban. The Jets have a bye in Week 4, so Herndon won’t be able to return until Week 6 against the Cowboys. Herndon is a darling for Fantasy GMs looking for a ‘sleeper’ at the tight end position. He’s got a current ADP of TE19 (14.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Broncos | Jeff Heuerman, Noah Fant starting options

Denver Broncos TEs Jeff Heuerman and Noah Fant will compete for the starting tight end job during training camp, but Heuerman will enter camp as the clear favorite for the job, in the opinion of 9News.com’s Mike Klis.

Footballguys View: Heuerman is the veteran the team brought back as a free agent earlier this year. Fant is their first-round pick from the 2019 NFL draft and he’s the future of the position. Joe Flacco loves to throw to the tight end and this Shanahan/Kubiak offense under new OC Rich Scangarello is going to be tight end friendly. We think Fant should win the job and provides upside as a low-end TE2 for Fantasy GMs.
