Eagles | J.J. Arcega-Whiteside making impression

Philadelphia Eagles WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside earned the praise of head coach Doug Pederson on Thursday, Aug. 22, after catching eight of his nine targets for 104 yards and a touchdown in a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. ‘One of the things (about)J.J. is (he is) a hard worker,’ Pederson said. ‘You see it in practice every day. He comes to work every day. He wants to get better. He wants to be taught. He wants to learn. He has a great mentor in Alshon (Jeffery) in front of him, so he’s learning from that. Being able to talk to Josh or talk to Carson (Wentz) during the week, talk about routes, talk about coverage, and that’s where he really takes it over to the field, and I think that’s what you saw tonight with him and his ability to make plays. The red zone we know he can be explosive. He was able to do that really not only there, but out in the field.’

Ravens | Marquise Brown buoyed by debut

Baltimore Ravens Marquise Brown (foot) made his pro debut Thursday, Aug. 22, in a preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, catching all three of his targets for 17 yards, losing four yards o an end-around and catching a two-point conversion pass that was later called back. ‘Man, it felt amazing,’ he said. ‘It’s the best day so far. Just being out here — from pregame to being in the game and being with the team — it was just a lot of fun.’
