Free-agent WR Dez Bryant recently texted team vice president Stephen Jones saying that he would like a chance to return to the Cowboys. ‘He has texted me that he would like to come back,’ Jones said via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ‘We have nothing but great respect for Dez and what he accomplished here. Certainly, as we look forward into the future we look at all opportunities and all potential players that could maybe help us out.’

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is a pending free agent, and Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said Thursday, Feb. 6, that negotiations on a long-term extension will soon get more serious. ‘We want to get this done,’ Jones said. ‘Things are fixing to heat up. We want to put every foot forward and try to grind this out and get a deal done.’

Broncos | Joe Flacco’s future uncertain

Denver Broncos QB Joe Flacco (neck) might need offseason surgery to deal with the herniated disc in his neck and has said he’d be open to remaining with the team a backup, but new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said there’s much remaining up in the air with Flacco. ‘I don’t know, and I wouldn’t get into that in this setting,’ Shurmur said Thursday, Feb. 6. ‘I’m just getting to know the players, the ones that were here a year ago, and I’m not sure who’s going to be here moving forward. I think (Flacco has) had an outstanding career. I thought he did a lot of good things last year, but unfortunately he was injured and couldn’t finish the season.’
