NFL | Adam Trautman quieted doubters

Dayton TE Adam Trautman established himself as a Day 2 prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft with his performance at the Senior Bowl, according to an NFC scout. ‘You knew him before the season, but you’re always going to look at who he played and how much of the success was just a physical mismatch,’ the scout said ‘That’s why the Senior Bowl was a big deal for him.’

Browns | Kareem Hunt signs tender offer

Cleveland Browns restricted free-agent RB Kareem Hunt signed his one-year tender offer Friday, April 17, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys View: The Browns keep Hunt around for a price tag around $2.9 million in 2020. Fantasy GMs know that Hunt has plenty of flex appeal, especially in PPR leagues, even though he’s a backup to Nick Chubb. Hunt is talented and a high-value handcuff who could be a top-tier fantasy running back if Chubb were to miss time.

Bears | Trey Burton to be let go

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton will be released in the near future, according to a source.

Footballguys View: Things just didn’t work out with Burton, who the team signed in 2017 with the idea that he could flourish after being a backup with the Eagles. That never came to fruition due to injury and inconsistency. Burton is recovering from hip surgery and will have to prove he’s healthy before another team takes a chance on him.
