Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger excited to return

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) said he is excited to return to the field and believes missing most of the season last year put a ‘little fire’ into him. Roethlisberger said he is going to give it everything he has to be better than ever. While he previously rested his arm during the offseason, he is throwing about three times a week as he works through recovery from surgery.

Jets | Offensive tackles in NYJ draft sights

Offensive tackles and 2020 NFL Draft prospects Andrew Thomas (Georgia), Jedrick Wills (Alabama), Meckhi Becton (Louisville) and Tristan Wirfs (Iowa) have all had pre-draft visits and/or video chats with the New York Jets, who are looking into protection for QB Sam Darnold.

Footballguys View: We think the Jets will go with an offensive tackle at No.11 overall in the first round. There is going to be a run on the position, and two or three tackles may already be off the board by that time.

Bengals | All options on table for Andy Dalton

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is preparing for a multitude of options if the Bengals select LSU QB Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday, April 23. ‘I truly believe they want what’s best for me, but I understand it’s a business, and you know how that goes,’ Dalton said in a recent interview. ‘With the first pick, if they take a quarterback like everyone expects, that could trigger something. There’s even a scenario where I go back there.’

Footballguys View: The Bengals could just keep Dalton and have him as a veteran backup behind Burrow. So far, no team has shown enough interest to get a trade done for Dalton. Perhaps after they take Burrow, trading Dalton away will become more realistic.

Giants | Trading 4th pick still option for NYG

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman reiterated Friday, April 17, that he’s open to trading the No. 4-overall selection in the 2020 draft, adding that he would ‘like to get the parameters of a deal in place’ before the Giants are on the clock, if they do wind up trading a pick.

Footballguys View: The Giants could go with an offensive tackle at No.4 overall. That seems to be the way they’re leaning, but they have to see what happens ahead of them in the draft. Going with a player like ILB Isaiah Simmons (Clemson) could be in their plans too.
