Jaguars | Yannick Ngakoue repeats intent to move on

Jacksonville Jaguars DE Yannick Ngakoue stressed his desire to be traded again Tuesday, April 7. ‘(Talks on a long-term contract) kind of broke off,’ he said. ‘Everything happens for a reason, and not everything lasts forever. Things come to an end, and it’s time for me to move on to the next chapter of my career. And I’m forever thankful for what Jacksonville has brought to me and my family, but it’s time to move on.’ Ngakoue added he wants to be traded to a team with a ‘great culture.’

Redskins | Washington chased Amari Cooper in free agency

Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera said Tuesday, April 7, the team pursued Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper in free agency. ‘Amari is somebody that we chased and we chased very hard. … We would have loved to have him.’

Footballguys View: Washington is looking for help at the wide receiver position, and they may address the position in the 2020 NFL draft. They need a partner in the WR corps to go along with Terry McLaurin.

Redskins | Chase Young headed to Washington?

Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera insinuated Tuesday, April 7, the team plans on selecting Ohio State DE Chase Young in the 2020 NFL Draft, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

Footballguys View: Zero surprise here. Young is arguably the best player in the draft, and the only reason he’ll be on the board with the no.2 overall pick is because the Bengals are likely to go Joe Burrow first. We think Young is basically a new version of Khalil Mack.

Falcons | Todd Gurley still awaiting physical

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley (knee) has yet to take or pass his physical, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff Tuesday, April 7.

Footballguys View: Dimitroff said he feels good about Gurley’s ability to pass the test. If Gurley is healthy and can regain his previous form, the Falcons just got a bargain on a one-year ‘prove it’ deal.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery was shopped

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery was actively shopped after the team guaranteed his 2020 salary last season. Jeffery found out that he was on the market and was troubled by the mixed messages he had received from the team, a source close to the receiver said.

Footballguys View: There wouldn’t be much of a market for Jeffery’s services (obviously) due to his salary and difficulty staying healthy. We’ll see if Jeffery can stay healthy in 2020 and perform up to his potential. Expect the Eagles to select a wide receiver at some point, likely with a premium pick, in the 2020 NFL draft.
