Giants | Oshane Ximines in line for bigger role
New York Giants DE Oshane Ximines is expected to have a bigger role in the passing rush this upcoming season.
Seahawks | Poona Ford may see bigger role
Seattle Seahawks DT Poona Ford has a chance to receive more playing time this upcoming season because the team lost two defensive tackles this offseason.
Bears | Germain Ifedi open to any role
Chicago Bears OT Germain Ifedi said he is open to playing either guard or tackle this upcoming season. He said he has played both positions during his career.
Bears | Three RBs may fight for one spot
Chicago Bears RBs Napoleon Maxwell, Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce may compete for one roster spot during training camp.
Lions | Matthew Stafford working out with teammates
Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford recently worked out with FB Nick Bawden, WR Jamal Agnew and TE Jesse James.
Rams | Sebastian Joseph-Day should still have role
Los Angeles Rams DT Sebastian Joseph-Day is not expected to start this upcoming season but should still have a solid role since he can play all three positions along the defensive line.
Seahawks | Several may compete for returner job
Seattle Seahawks WR Penny Hart, WR John Ursua, WR David Moore, RB DeeJay Dallas, RB Travis Homer and S Ugo Amadi may compete for the punt returner job during training camp.
Footballguys View: We think Hart could be the guy with the edge here. He was undrafted out of Georgia State in 2019 (Colts) but did flash in the pre-draft process, especially when he was at the Senior Bowl. He’s lightning quick and has speed to his game to boot. That could work well as a return man and reserve receiver for Seattle in 2020.
Titans | Logan Woodside may have edge in competition
Tennessee Titans QB Logan Woodside may have an edge over QB Cole McDonald for the No. 2 quarterback job because he is more familiar with the offensive scheme, in the opinion of TennesseeTitans.com’s Jim Wyatt.
Footballguys View: Woodside has experience while McDonald is the rookie in the mix. McDonald was a gunslinger during his college career at Hawaii, constantly attacking all levels of the field with his arm. Woodside was a seventh-round pick of the Bengals in the 2018 NFL draft. During his college career at Toledo he threw a whopping 73 touchdowns over his final two seasons with the Rockets. We’ll see this battle unfold in training camp and the preseason.
Redskins | Emanuel Hall likely to miss 2020 season
Washington Redskins WR Emanuel Hall (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles tendon during a workout last month and likely will miss the entire 2020 season.
Footballguys View: Hall has incredible natural physical gifts but he can’t stick with a team in the NFL and he struggles to stay healthy. During his college career at Missouri, Hall battled hamstring injuries and those woes have followed him to the pros. He was undrafted in 2019 and picked up by the Bears. He bounced to Tampa and then Washington…now another injury has knocked him out. His chances of making an impact at the pro level are running out.
