Eagles | DeSean Jackson’s days numbered in Philly?

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson could be nearing the end of his time with the team for anti-Semitic comments he recently posted on one of his social media accounts. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the team’s decision to keep Jackson on the roster could come down to whether or not the nature of the posts he made is a ‘default’ under his contract. Schefter, who also reports Jackson is guaranteed $4.8 million in salary in 2020 and has already received a $2 million option bonus, suggests the Eagles could try to figure out a way to recoup his guaranteed salary first before parting ways with the receiver.

NFL | Teez Tabor underwent surgery

Free-agent CB Teez Tabor (foot) recently underwent surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his foot, according to a source. He is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Footballguys View: The 49ers waived Tabor on Monday. He was on the 49ers practice squad for most of the 2019 season and signed a futures deal with them for 2020. If he’s ready for the start of the regular season, we imagine some team will sign him for veteran depth after/around Week 1.

Chiefs | Patrick Mahomes agrees to huge extension

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes agreed to terms on a 10-year contract extension with the Chiefs Monday, July 6, that will run through the 2031 season, according to sources. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the contract with be the richest contract in NFL history.

Footballguys View: When financial details are released, prepare to be knocked off your socks. Mahomes is only 24-years old and the Chiefs are in a Super Bowl window so long as he’s healthy. He has put up historic numbers in just two years of starting for the Chiefs and is the face of the NFL. Expect Mahomes to keep the Chiefs in contention for years to come.
