San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is still part of the team’s plans even though they acquired the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, according to general manager John Lynch.

Footballguys View: Lynch has said this before. Garoppolo is part of their plans, but they need to be ready for the future…and that may happen sooner rather than later. They can win games with Garoppolo but he’s hurt too often to trust. That’s why they’ve secured the no.3 overall pick so they can draft their QB of the future. That could be Justin Fields (Ohio State), Trey Lance (North Dakota State) or Mac Jones (Alabama).
