Representatives from 15 NFL teams — including new Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and offensive line coaches, and the secondary coaches from the San Diego Chargers — were on hand for Florida’s pro day on Monday, when 13 Gators players plus six others from area small schools worked out. The runs and jumps took place indoors at the O’Connell Center — home of the Gators’ men’s and women’s basketball teams, among other tennants — while the position drills were conducted outside, where it was wet (hence why the pro day runs went indoors on the rubber track). Brock Coyle rises from obscurity at Montana’s pro day
One of the biggest 2014 NFL Draft surprises so far on the entire pro day circuit highlighted Montana’s pro day on Tuesday. Linebacker Brock Coyle has risen from obscurity to be a possible late-round draft pick come May. Coyle went and played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and had a good game (registering a tackle for loss). After which, there was some question as to what his speed would be, the result was a pro day workout that was just a little less than sensational. Montana’s pro day was held outdoors in 37-degree temperatures and a slight wind. Representatives from 14 NFL teams were present, and the workout was put together by Tennessee Titans college scout Marv Sunderland. A total […]

Jackonsville Jaguars get look at Kentucky linebacker
Representatives from 24 NFL teams — including Jacksonville Jaguars linebackers coach Robert Saleh — were present for Kentucky’s pro day on March 14, when 15 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf. Avery Williamson, LB (6-foot 3/4, 244 pounds) — Williamson stood on his times and jump distances from the NFL Scouting Combine. At Kentucky’s pro day, he did 15 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Williamson went through the position drills, and it doesn’t look like he can be an outside linebacker in the NFL. He is better suited to play inside linebacker in a 4-3 type of defense. He figures to be late-round draft pick, selected in the sixth or seventh rounds.Filed under: Pro Days Tagged: Avery […]
