Packers | Coach: Aaron Rodgers wanted

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has been the subject of rampant trade speculation since reports surfaced in late April that he wants out of Green Bay. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Friday, May 14, that there’s ‘nothing new to add’ about the situation. ‘We obviously still feel the same way,’ LaFleur added. ‘We want him back in the worst way. He knows that.’

Footballguys View: The Packers are trying their best to mend fences with Rodgers. There are rumblings that the team is working on a new contract that could make him the highest paid quarterback in the league. Jordan Love is not ready to take over as the team’s starter and Rodgers is still playing at an elite level. Expect the Packers to make the strongest push possible to see if Rodgers will want to stay. June 1st is when his cap hit is greatly reduced in a trade, so that’s a target date in this situation. Stay on the edge of your seat and stay tuned.

Giants | Corey Clement trying out for NYG

Free agent RB Corey Clement (Eagles) is among the players trying out for the New York Giants at their rookie minicamp this weekend, according to a report Friday, May 15.

Footballguys View: Clement is trying to latch on with a new team and we’ll see if he can impress during this tryout. He played only 108 snaps last year, rushing 21 times for 75 yards and one touchdown. Clement also chipped in with five catches for 25 yards. A few years ago (2017, 2018), Clement flashed some talent and was a reserve player to watch. Now, he’s just trying to hang on in the league.

Colts | Eric Fisher doesn’t have timeline

Indianapolis Colts OT Eric Fisher (Achilles) isn’t putting a timeline on his return from a torn left Achilles tendon. ‘What I can tell you is I’m a big ‘control what you can control’ kind of guy,’ Fisher said in an interview Thursday, May 13. ‘Obviously, I’d like to snap my fingers and have a perfect Achilles again, but you know, that’s not the case. Obviously, the club feels good with where I’m at, I’m feeling good, but any other questions about my Achilles, I’ll leave up to Chris Ballard or Coach (Frank Reich).’
