Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch productive Week 4

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries against the St. Louis Rams in Week 4.

Our View: Lynch was routinely breaking tackles and getting yards after contact as the Seahawks conservative offense feeds him the ball. He was productive as a receiver, too, with four catches for 37 yards. Lynch is firmly in the WR tier in a situation that is perfect for his running style. He’s a great play in week 5 against a Carolina run defense that couldn’t stop Michael Turner this week.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has rough outing

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 17-for-25 for 160 yards and three interceptions against the St. Louis Rams in Week 4.

Our View: Wilson is looking very average as an athlete and passer, and that’s being generous. The Seahawks pass offense is very limited with Wilson, although none of his interceptions were on mistakes or even clearly his fault. Still, the Seahawks might need to consider getting a return on the ten million guaranteed that they paid Matt Flynn this offseason.

Rams | Greg Zuerlein sets franchise record

St. Louis Rams PK Greg Zuerlein made all four of his field goal attempts against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 including a franchise record 60-yard field goal.

Our View: Zuerlein leads an amazing class of rookie kickers who have been fantasy forces. The NFC West lends itself to field goal-heavy games, so Zuerlein may keep this up.

Bills | Scott Chandler gets in end zone twice

Buffalo Bills TE Scott Chandler caught four passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4 against the New England Patriots.

Our View: Chandler might have suffered a concussion and the Bills have a tough game at San Francisco next week. He is still worth a pickup if you need a tight end, but don’t expect anything next week.

Bills | Ryan Fitzpatrick throws four TDs, INTs

Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 22-for-39 for 350 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions in Week 4 against the New England Patriots.

Our View: Fitzpatrick has the most illusory numbers in the league. He’s the league leader in touchdown passes, but many have come in desperation time or as a result of poor tackling. He’s a sell high going into San Francisco next week.

The Texans defense tried to keep DE J.J. Watt out of the highlights… and failed

The Texans defense did what it always does in today’s 38-14 win over the Titans. They dominated, applying pressure, confusing them, and making plays. And in one of the NFL’s best defenses, second-year end J.J. Watt is the most dynamic player. It was that way again in Reliant Stadium. Watt had two sacks, five tackles, and one fumble recovery. He put on a show. There were plenty of highlights, as Watt ran his total to a whopping 7.5 sacks in four games — a staggering number for a 3-4 DE. How good is he? Allow Texans owner Bob McNair to weigh in. “I don’t know if there’s anybody on the defensive side of the ball that’s playing  as well as […]
